History

Beckett & Kay was formed in April 2002 by Peter Beckett and Richard Kay.They had first worked together over ten years previously at Kemp & Hawley, a firm of general practice Chartered Surveyors, then based in Covent Garden.

In 1997, Peter left Kemp & Hawley to set up as a sole practitioner. Richard remained with Kemp & Hawley, which in 1998 was merged with Stiles Harold Williams, where he became responsible for the day-to-day running of the London Property Management department, acting for clients such as the Bedford Estate, the Royal Albert Hall, Tishman International, and Challenger Property Management.

Peter joined his father’s firm in 1970, and has been in the property business ever since.

A massive expansion of the partnership occurred when Henrietta Hammonds joined as a partner in 2016.

We feel we have established ourselves as leaders in the fields of leasehold enfranchisement and valuation in dilapidations cases.
